SHREDDINGS PART 1: A GARDEN REDRAWN

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

:: As landscape architects, we interact with the natural and built world to create space. While we think of ourselves as stewards of the environment, we acknowledge the process of design is paper intensive.

:: Like our constantly changing drawings throughout the design process, paper moves through various stages in its own lifecycle - from tree to pulp to product to waste to pulp...and so on.

:: Seeing the opportunity to reflect our own goals as designers, we have interrupted this typical paper cycle by shredding 6 weeks worth of design by-product.

:: Rather than going from the blue bin to the curb, we transformed our discarded diagrams into one more state - a temporary garden.
