ELDORADO AQUATIC CENTER

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA

:: Entitled "Floating World," this project was created by artist Sylvia Tidwell and ah'bé principal Calvin Abe. Produced by the Scottsdale Public Art Program.

:: Completed in June 2003, the Eldorado Pool Complex is a recreation & fitness hub that is now characterized as a refuge of sky & water from the heat of the desert.

:: A spectacular 190-foot long Technicolor river accentuates the move from a dry desert to a world of cooling water.

:: The pool's lobby ceiling was transformed to a sky full of 18 fiberglass sculptures to create a swirling cumulocirrus post-storm cloud formation.
