AHBE is working on an infrastructure upgrade and sustainability-focused improvements for the 17-acre park core in Burbank, California. The focus of the project is restoration of the Little Tujunga water channel that traverses the park into a destination water feature with enhanced habitat, recreational access, and water quality. Other improvements include a walking promenade with parcourse equipment and improved accessibility, new low-energy lighting, an expanded children’s play area, California native plantings, and reclaimed water for irrigation. AHBE is currently soliciting feedback on park designs from the community through a series of workshops. Construction completion is targeted for mid-2013 with a construction budget of $2.5 million dollars.
